The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United are lagging behind in the race to sign Lallana although they are in the pole position to sign young prospect Luke Shaw also at Southampton.
And Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers is ready to open the Liverpool wallet and authorize a 15 million pound bid but would potentially need to go a bit higher to secure the signing.
If Rodgers cannot get Lallana, an alternative would be Dnipro flanker Yevhen Konoplyanka which Liverpool missed out on during the January window earlier this season.
The 25 year-old has been prolific this season with 9 goals and 8 assists in 36 Premier League appearances which has also basically booked his seat on the plane to Brazil as well despite a niggling groin injury.
