Bayern Munich Sign Frankfurt Midfielder Sebastian Rode

Bayern Munich have secured their second signing of the summer with talented midfielder Sebastian Rode set to join the club on July 1 from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rode will join Robert Lewandowski as the Baverians new signings who will both join for free, which is some very good business for the Bundesliga and Champions League reigning champions.

There has been talk for some time now that he would join but Bayern Munich confirmed on Monday that he will join the club at the end of the season on a four-year deal.

"I'm really happy that this transfer has been completed," Rode told the official Bayern site.

"Bayern is the next big step for me," he added."I want to develop here and win a lot of titles with my future teammates."

"Sebastian Rode is an excellent professional, he embodies the highest level of professionalism and dynamism," sporting director Matthias Sammer said."I'm sure he will give our team a lot of momentum and pep to tackle future challenges.

Rode, a German under-21 international, made 17 appearances in the Bundesliga this season for Eintracht with most of the second half of the season being missed due to injury.
