Cerezo Osaka Star Kakitani Heading to Europe

J-League star and Japan international Yoichiro Kakitani looks as though his future lies in Europe with the likes of Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund interested in the 24 year-old.

Kakitani may not be a name that many outside of Asia have heard of but this attacking midfielder looks set to make the move to Europe like his attacking midfield predecessors Honda, Kagawa and Kiyotake have in years gone by.

According to Fichajes, Spain is a very possible destination with Sevilla seemingly in pole position although the likes of Getafe, Borussia Dortmund and FC Basel are also monitoring the situation of the 9 time Japan player.

Kakitani would be a fairly inexpensive option for any European side looking to score more goals and he has been given the go ahead for a move to Europe by Uruguayan legend and teammate Diego Forlan.

"He's a really good player, he has a great talent." Forlan told Calciomercato.com.

"Europe would give him the right experience that he lacks and he would grow personally and professionally."

The attacking midfielder who is just as adept in the centre forward role was scoring for fun last season with 21 goals in 34 league appearances and looks set to be part of Japan's squad in the upcoming World Cup.
