And it could be that both Leverkusen and Calhanoglu get their wishes with Bayer claiming to have an agreement in principle with the player and also have submitted an official bid for the player.
"Calhanoglu should become our marquee signing signing. We have presented an offer in writing to HSV. said Leverkusen chief Michael Schade to Bild.
"We have an understanding with the player. He has verbally accepted our offer and only wants to join us, he has informed Hamburg of this."
The bid is thought to be around 12.5 million euros and Calhanoglu would be joining to receive around 3 million euros per season.
