The Italian under-21 international from quite a few years ago has been banging in the goals since moving to the Netherlands to play in their domestic league with 23 league goals in just the past season alone.
Southampton recently lost Ricky Lambert who joined his boyhood club in Liverpool and with Pablo Osvaldo looking like either heading out on loan again or permanently, Pelle looks like a logical replacement to lead the line next season.
And Southampton may have a big advantage over other potential suitors for Pelle with new boss Ronald Koeman a former manager of Feyenoord.
Koeman will most likely also have to replace Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw as well as Lambert with the former duo also most likely departing for big money moves during the upcoming summer.
