Marchetti is believed to be the ideal signing for Milan to replace aged veteran Christian Abbiati in the starting line-up with the club also having interest in Newcastle keeper Tim Krul as well.
Both Lazio and Milan have allegedly agreed upon a 13 million euro transfer fee although the player has yet to reach an agreement over personal terms.
The 31 year-old has not enjoyed the greatest of season's with Lazio as he is currently out injured and was also reduced to sitting on the bench for some portion of the season too and hence has only made 21 appearances in Serie A.
It also looks as if this form and amount of playing time received will also lead to Marchetti's exclusion from the Italian squad for the world cup.
