Liverpool Agree to Sign Leverkusen Midfielder Emre Can

German newspaper Bild is reporting that Liverpool have agreed to a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen and former Bayern Munich defensive midfielder Emre Can.

The German youth international has enjoyed a good first season at the Bay Arena after moving from the Bavarians in the summer but could be moving on after this one season alone.

The versatile 20 year-old who can also play in a more attacking midfield role or also as part of the back four as a left-back, looks set to move for approximately 12 million euros after negotiations between his agent and Liverpool progressed well and now the deal is as good as done.

The addition of Can should be Liverpool's first dealing of the summer with Brendan Rodgers also looking to sign the likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Alexis Sanchez and Xherdan Shaqiri in their quest to compete in Europe and in England next season.

Can who move to Bayer Leverkusen for 5 million last summer, has made 44 appearances in all competitions with 4 goals and 6 assists to his name.
