The 6 time Argentina international has been named in the squad for the World Cup and is all but on the way to a new club with negotiations all but closed with Valencia.
The deal is estimated to be a fee of around 25 million euros and the only thing missing at the moment is the actual terms of the payment, whether it be over a period of years or right away.
The Spanish club is keen to close the deal before the commencement of the World Cup and the main reason behind this would be the fact that a good showing in a few matches for Perez would see increased interest for the player and perhaps an increased fee as well.
Valencia are also in the hunt to sign Ezequiel Garay who is also intriguing large parts of Europe and would be much harder to obtain.
Perez made 46 appearances in all competitions this season with 5 goals and 7 assists to add to his name as well.
