The 32 year-old has signed a two year deal with the Anfield side having been released by the club as a 15 year-old school boy.
Since then he has made it all the way up from the bottom with time at Macclesfield town, Rochdale and Bristol rovers plus a few others before joining Southampton and then progressing to make an international debut.
And after being in negotiations to sign Adam Lallana and also Croatian international Dejan Lovren, the club made a somewhat surprising deal for Lambert.
Terms were agreed last Friday and then on Saturday, he underwent a medical and will now be part of the team to try and make another move at the title although playing time may be restricted as a back up for Suarez and Sturridge.
Lambert was part of 37 English Premier Matches with 13 goals and 11 assists tallied up in what was another great season for the at times underrated player.
